Scientoons join hands with CTDDR 2010

PRESS CONFERENCE
 
               “India to play a vital role in drug research in the world”, this was stated in a press conference by Dr. A. K. Saxena, Organizing Secretary of the 4th International Conference on Current Trends in Drug Discovery Research( CTDDR-2010) , which will be held from 17th Feb 2010 to 21st Feb 2010 at Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) Lucknow, India. Prof. R.R. Schmidt, from Germany, will be delivering Key note address in the inaugural function of the conference at 5.30 PM tomorrow which will be held in CDRI, Lucknow.
 
                   Dr. Saxena threw light on the objective of CTDDR giving the brief history of this conference which was for the first time organized in the year 2001 on the occasion of Golden Jubilee of CDRI, Lucknow. From then onwards this conference is organized every third year with the objective of spreading awareness about the latest and novel trends in drug research. Dr. Saxena further informed that a number of Pharma industries from India are also actively participating in this conference.
 
                   In this conference around 500 people from India and around 50 scientists and experts from USA, Germany, Italy, Hong Kong, Egypt. Greece, Singapore, South Africa, France, Denmark, Canada, Japan, Hungary, South Korea, Slovenia and many more countries are participating. The main reason for the foreigners to participate is due to the fact that Indian scientist have done very good work on diseases of the tropical countries and now India is also focusing on the  life style diseases like cardio vascular diseases, neuro degenerative disorders, diabetes, osteoporosis and obesity. Dr. Saxena also highlighted that around 300 young researchers will be presenting their research findings as posters.
        Another unique highlight of this conference is a very special cultural program which is Light and Sound show on the history of Oudh in which more than 100 artists will be participating on February 19, 2010.
